I always liked the simple Jomo LITE40 boxmod, nice and simple and supplys plenty of power for your vaping needs.

however, anyone who's owned one will have no doubt came a cropper of its one great flaw....

The Usb charging port seems to stop working out the blue and your left with a box mod that cant charge its own soldered in battery.

Sooooo.... I made this design

It couldnt be any simpler really, you strip the electronics out the original box casing, 2x screws on the top and 2x screws on the bottom, you then slide everything out the top, discard the main casing and base plate, snip off the stock battery as close to the battery as you can, then slide the electronics down through the top of the new 3d printed casing (make sure to position the button beforehand obviously) and secure by firing the two top screws back through the top plate and into the 3d part.

Now extend the Live wire a couple of inch with appropriate gauge wire and solder the live and negative to the appropriate points on a 18650 battery holder.

slot the holder into the back of the casing, back out the top screws a little so the holder can sit right back against the inner lip, then fire the screws back down again, lastly fire in the 2x bottom ones and presto change-o your done.

you can now use any 18650 battery you choose and charge them externally on a cheapo 18650 usb charger.

you can even re-use the original stock 18650's if you desolder the remaining wire from its top and bottom.

someone messaged me asking how much it would cost to make this mod from scratch.

you can buy the Jomo LITE40 box mod for £16 on ebay, fit its electronics into this case, re-use the stock battery and even buy 2 more 18650's for £4, meaning you can make this boxmod design for roughly £20..... and thats with a free tank and additional wick (they come with the stock box mod), bargain Id say.

of course youll need a external charger but they can be picked up for a couple of quid just about anywhere, alternatively Ill be adding a design sometime soon for a charging board I bought of Banggood for about £1 and works great via USB.
