Our shop uses steel cylinders as raw material. They often arrive on site with a hole bored through the center.  The cylinders are lifted using a single sling run through the hole.

A pair of these softeners printed in TPU protects the sling from being damaged by the edge of the hole.

There is a pocket in the vertical face that will accept a 30mm magnet that is 3mm thick. This helps position the softener during rigging.

It has been used on loads weighing over a tonne. The part deforms under load but returns to its original shape without damage.

There are two sizes the larger is used when the center hole is about 150mm diameter. The smaller is used for holes with a diameter of 75mm.

If the model is placed with the angle face on the build plate, it can be printed without supports.
