Accessory power outlet/auxiliary power outlet/cigarette lighter socket
I couldn't find any existing models that are robust, so I made it instead. This socket uses a hose clamp and some fasteners. It can be used inline, or mounted to some flat surface. The housing is optional if screwing it to some surface (the holes are 34.5mm apart as is). Assembly should be self explanatory from the pictures.
Materials
Hose clamp for the negative terminal
Diameter of at least 20mm
Band with should be 8mm
Band thickness should be 0.6mm
Alternatively, nickel strips for batteries can be used instead of hose clamps
They are somewhat common and similarly sized
Might be less rigid and require gluing
M4 (equivalent or smaller) bolt, nut, and ring/spade terminal for the positive terminal
These fasteners should be electrically conductive or plated in something conductive
Bolt length between 8mm to 12mm
If you don't have ring/spade terminals, you might be able to solder to the nut or a washer instead
2x M4 Bolt or similar sized screws for mounting
Length of approximately 10mm
Optional - Cable tie to prevent strain on the wire connections
Caution
Intended for low power devices such as USB devices, LEDs, dashcams, etc. Draw high current at your own risk.
Hose clamps (and some fasteners) aren't meant to be contacts, so there is going to be higher contact resistance and heat. In my case, they are zinc coated, so they passable and easy to solder to.
Using filament with high glass transition temperature is also recommended. Print with 100% infill.
Customization
STEP files are included. Alternatively, you can customize some parameters and export directly from onshape.
