Summary
A customizable shoe. Makes a pair of wedges, 2D soles, or high heels. Length, width and shape are customizable.
Options include a beveled tip, holes for sandal straps, and a bore for adding a structural screw into the heel (to counteract the sheer forces that might split the layers of filament when printed on an FFF printer - resulting in a trip which might cause injury to the nerdy fashionista*).
If you want any features, ask in the comments. Features under contemplation are a closed toe and a heel support.
*Or fashionisto. I can imagine that there is at least one drag queen with a 3D printer who cant find size 14 high heels.
EDIT (24 AUG 2015): User Neon22 pointed to an error in which the options on the 2nd tab wouldn't work. These have been corrected.
Instructions
Shoe Assembly Instructions
- Trace your foot with a thick sock on.
- Take the measurements needed by the program, and choose an appropriate screw.
- Input the parameters in the program
- Generate an STL file (because of how the file is generated, it wont look right on preview in either OpenSCAD or Customizer, this might change with newer versions of the language).
- Print the shoes (although I doubt most shoes will fit on most printers).
- Check that the shoes are the right size, that the straps fit, and the screws fit in the holes.
- (if you are really lucky you can skip this step) Throw out your 8 hour print, adjust parameters and repeat steps 5 and 6.
- Use velcro or ribbon to create strap.
- The bottom of the heel hole is one quarter of the sole thickness above the bottom. Countersink a hole for the head of the screw based on this information and the screw length.
- Screw the screw into the heel hole. Fill The countersink bore with epoxy or joint compound or some other gap filler.
- (optional) create pads for your shoes or buy inserts. Glue padding to the shoes.
- Affix straps.
- Strut...a lot.
- (optional) Remember that they make Red PETE filament, and now you really can have ruby slippers.
