This fixture makes removing the bushing from a 1911 easier and safer by adding a fence that prevents unexpected movement of the recoil spring and plug.

After you unload the weapon, remove the magazine and engage the safety. Then press the muzzle into the opening and rotate it clockwise until the recoil spring plug is clear of the bushing. Slowly lift the weapon away from the fixture, capturing the recoil spring and plug between your hand and the fence. Just reverse the process for assembly.
