Although the original clamps are still effective, they are a bit loose in size, and it's often quite difficult to remove them. This improvement solves these two problems at once. What's more, these clamps are also suitable for fixing power cables.
For the power cable, please make sure that the power cable is precisely centered. Otherwise, it is very easy to be damaged due to squeezing.
The newly designed clamp features a 45-degree inclined filling structure on the inside of the arm and a compact buckle on the outside. When removing it, just insert a flat tool like a flat-head screwdriver into the back of the buckle, gently pry the outer wall of the aluminum profile, and the clamp will easily come off.
In addition, the clamp has been optimized to perfectly fit the two 3mm power cables output by the power supply.
Also included is a 90-degree angle clamp, which is designed to provide stable support at the intersection of wiring and aluminum profiles. For more details, please refer to the picture description.
The arm of this clamp is shorter and has slightly lower flexibility, so it's a bit more difficult to install and remove.
All the fixtures are installed in the middle of the 4040-sized aluminum profiles, so they are compatible with all kinds of 3D printers that use this size of frame.
To achieve the best strength, it is recommended to place the print vertically as shown in the STL file. However, although the extension part of the 90-degree clamp has some weak points, it will hardly be subjected to tensile stress in normal use scenarios—unless you deliberately use it to pry the clamp off...
This design was modified and modeled using SketchUp. If you want to make further adjustments or customizations, we have included the SKP file for your use. You can also export the design to STL format using the free plug-in provided by Warehouse.
It is recommended to use the side-lying printing method, so that the layer lines run through the clamping jaws, thereby greatly enhancing the overall strength of the printed parts. The choice of materials is flexible. Personally, I recommend using PETG, which has particularly excellent performance.
