The problem with the existing Phantom Screen door handle is that it is a reach under vs. a reach through. The screens slice closed from a roller to the opposite jamb and attach there with magnets, unrolling a screen in its wake.

The handle we are replacing is strategically mounted in the middle of a vertical metal frame so that it is balanced as it runs along tracks on the top of the door opening and along the threshold. The orientation of the handle allows you to reach out and grab the door with your fingertips and pull the frame across the opening and to the opposite side. The screen roller is spring-activated, so it wants to rollback up into the open position until you secure it to the opposite side with magnets.

The problem with this setup is that the opposite jamb will be very close to the handle once the magnets engage. That handle is almost touching the doorway jamb. With one hand, you cannot grab the handle again and get enough leverage to pull it free from the strong magnets without it slipping past your thumb and WHACK against the roller side. This is potentially dangerous, surprising and loud, to to mention it might damage the screen itself.

The solution is a modified door handle that lets your fingers go all the way through it so you have leverage in both directions and can get a much better grip when opening it to pull it free from the magnets. It allows easy, one-handed operation.

I put these on three different Phantom Screen doors at my house. It worked great and is a good match to the originals. I printed with at least three perimeters and maybe 20% infill but you could add more of each if you like a hefty part. Use the original screws.
