I made this custom metal cross pattern as a special project for my neighbor who has a pretty awesome collection of decorative wall crosses. I took care to make this pattern with a good draft so it can easily slide out of the sand mold after packing it tight in some greensand or petrobond. This will help the mold hold its shape and crisp details when it's time to pour the molten metal. Let me know if you need any other specifics on how to cast or print this. Check out the casting photo.
I sliced it with PrusaSlicer, with a layer height of 0.12mm, three perimeters and 20% infill. I printed it in PLA. I did not do any post processing of the print, just rammed it up in the sand with some diatomaceous earth dusted on the surface as a parting powder.
