This is a simple hook that slips over the top of a tilting window (typically found in Germany). My windows are 20 mm thick at the top and it fits perfectly. The window can still be closed with the hook attached. I didn't test how much weight it can carry, but in our case we hang stars from it weighing about 400 g.
