While learning how to grow peppers with the Kratky Hydroponic method I read about the need to block light from getting into the nutrient solution so that algae does not grow. People either paint the outside of the containers with nutrient solution or buy the containers in very opaque colors like black to prevent algae growth. I bought some net pots off of Amazon and I was concerned that the thin brim of the net pot combined with the surface design of the container would result in a little bit of light making it into the container with nutrient solution. I wanted to prevent algae growth with a simple 3d printed brim that I can quickly customize in fusion 360 for various net pot sizes (e.g., 2 in, 3in, metric, you name it).
Watch the video to learn how to edit in Fusion 360 to make for any size net pot you like.
