***EDIT*** - After some recent feedback, I suggest that you print the tip of the telescopes separately from the tower. It's possible that printing the tip can cause issues that wouldn't occur otherwise, and ruin your whole tower.
- I have uploaded a tip-less version of the sword tower to make printing it have a higher chance of success.
- Also added a SOLID core tip that wobbles much less than the hollow version. Please print this version.
The collapsible needle sword has never looked more realistic.
This version uses much longer sections to extend much further, and will measure about 1300mm when fully extended if printed perfectly.
Tree supports are needed for the handle, and I very highly recommend a big Brim on the sword part (especially if you're running a bedslinger) as the sections print up to 220mm Z height.
PETG is also recommended for this piece for durability reasons, but it will work fine in PLA if you treat it nicely.
If you want to save time printing the tall towers of the sword - increase the nozzle extrusion width to 0.7mm. This is fine even for a 0.4mm nozzle, and it will reduce the amount of walls from 3 to 2 (the sword walls are 1.4mm thick), which will cut out a TON of printing time, but still give you a strong, stiff wall.
0.2 layer height recommended on the handle.
Then just glue the base of your sword into the handle (ONLY glue the outermost piece or you will fuse the telescope together). It may just press-fit as is, but the force from extending your needle will undo it quite easily, so please use glue.
Ranger Red costume not included.
