This is a blend file that you can use to make a single side frame part. based upon a profile mesh.

You can adjust the profile, the nice thing about it, it has 45 degree angles and you only input the canvas size, it also has a nail / screw hole, exact measurements of a canvas, no more wood sawing ;)
