Update Jan 30 2025 - Added a 40mm taller version.
I was never particularly happy with the mount I previously made. I started from scratch so not really a remix, but I did use the same dimensions from the older design for the part where the camera attaches, so here we are.
This new design should work on any 40mm rail. If you only have a 20mm rail, it'll probably work there too, I just don't know if you will be able to get the angle you want. With this new design, you can rotate the mount to exactly where you want it to point before tightening up the bolts. I also made it a little taller than the previous version.
As for print orientation, I included a picture showing four possible orientations. I would really recommend NOT using one of the first two orientations (the ones with the red X above them). I used the 3rd one (the one with the green checkmark; I printed in PLA, 25% gyroid infill, tree supports, with a brim). The fourth one might work best, assuming it sticks to the print bed. The reason for not using either of the first two is due to the layer lines causing weakness in the holes used for the camera screw. Ask me how I know. I designed the model expecting to print it in the 3rd orientation, which is why I haven't bothered trying the 4th one. The 3rd orientation allows for at least some layers of the camera holes to be complete circles of filament, whereas the 4th allows all of the layers to be complete circles. If you try the 4th one, please let me know how it works! Though the same argument could be made about the hole in the base in the 4th orientation, there's a lot more plastic surrounding that hole than in the 1st or 2nd ones.
Be careful if you print something tall that goes near the edge of your print bed - your camera may overhang the print bed and hit during printing.
In addition to the C270 camera removed from its factory mount, I used:
1 M3 nut
1 M3x25 bolt (probably could have used a M3x20) to attach the camera
2 M3x10 bolts
2 M3 T-nuts
