Making the Brass Connector
This shock mount replaces the plastic mic holder at the end of the PRO 35's provided mounting clip. In order to securely connect the shock mount to the arm of the mounting clip, a custom metal part is used.
Supplies
Process
- Use the #10-32 tap to thread the inside of one end of the brass tube.
- File a flat on the outside of the threaded end so it fits into the socket in the 3d-printed part.
- Drill and tap a hole for the set screw in the side of the tube. This should be far enough from the threaded end that it won't collide with the #10-32 screw.
- Cut the part to length and clean up the end with a file.
- Insert the threaded end into the 3d-printed part and secure it with the #10-32 screw.
- Insert the clip arm into the other end and secure it with the set screw.
