but I couldn't get the sliding cover to reliably print out on my printer, so I grabbed the OpenSCAD model for the cavities and used them in a different core+cover design. I used small bumps inside the cover to provide friction to keep the parts together.

I've printed this with both PLA and PETG. The PETG result is strong enough for me to stand on (don't put your iSee inside when you do this!), so I prefer the durability vs PLA.
