I was building a NAS out of a Thinkstation M920Q and the ASM1166 card was touching some metal when inserted into the PCI-E slot. So I designed a snap on isolating backplate. It holds itself on purely by friction. If you want it to be held in better you can melt the standoffs on the holes and form a plug. In the M920Q this plate also wedges itself onto the VGA/Serial port metal piece making it quite sturdy.
