I wanted a way to clean up wiring inside the body of our Astromech, and also make a simpler connection for wires connecting to the electronics panel.  That way the electronics panel would could be disconnected and removed if needed, without it being a whole ordeal.

I found a 15 pin terminal block that I decided to mount in the body. And a 15 pin DSUB connector board to mount on the electronics panel. Then I was able to get a 15 pin D-SUB cable and that would allow me to disconnect wiring very easily.

I designed a plate to mount the terminal block in the body using the screws holding the side vents on. You will need to use slightly longer screws for this. The plate also has several zip tie slots for cable management.

I also made a panel to mount the D-Sub breakout board onto an MCU.
