The Penrose stairs are a famous geometric paradox, referring to a staircase that always goes up or down but never reaches an end. It can be regarded as a variant of the Penrose triangle, and on this staircase, it is impossible to find the highest or lowest point forever. The Penrose stairs were proposed by British mathematician Roger Penrose and his father, geneticist Leonid Penrose, in 1958.
