Printing Tips
Print Settings:
Layer Height: Set the layer height to 0.2 mm for a good compromise between quality and print time.
Filling: Use a filling of 10-20% max to ensure buoyancy while maintaining the solidity of the model.
Material: Use PLA or PETG, lightweight and buoyant materials, suitable for humid environments.
Supports:
Use of Supports: Activate the supports for the overhanging parts, particularly under the fixing ring to guarantee a good result.
Media Density: Set the media density to approximately 15% for a balance between ease of removal and stability during printing.
Adhesion to the Plateau:
Brim or Raft: Use a brim or raft to improve adhesion to the bed and prevent warping during printing.
Print Speed:
Setting: Print at a moderate speed to ensure good surface quality and avoid defects.
Temperature Settings:
Extrusion Temperature: Set the extrusion temperature according to the filament manufacturer's recommendations (generally between 200-220°C for PLA, 220-250°C for PETG or indicated on filament spool).
Platen Temperature: Set the platen temperature between 50-60°C for PLA, and 70-80°C for PETG.
Post treatment
Removal of Supports:
Carefully remove the supports using wire cutters or a craft knife, then sand any rough areas to a smooth finish.
Waterproofing:
To improve waterproofing and durability, apply a coat of varnish or epoxy resin to the entire surface of the key ring.
Buoyancy:
Check buoyancy by placing the keychain in water before use. Adjust wall thickness or filling if necessary.
Personalization
Bright colors :
Use brightly colored filaments (yellow, orange, red) for better visibility in the water.
Writing space:
If not already included, create a flat surface on the buoy where you can write or engrave personal information (name, phone number).
