Recently I was reorganizing a computer desk, so I made these cable clips to help keep the associated wiring organized. They are primarily designed to stick onto the underside of a desk, bit of course they can be stuck onto any smooth clean surface. I call these clips “extra sticky” because they have an extra wide “foot” for use with 1 " (25mm) wide double-sided foam tape.
Assembly and Use
Apply double-sided foam tape to the “foot” of the clip; use wide (1", 25mm) foam tape. Then simply peel off the protective backing of the tape and stick in place; it is recommended that you clean the surface first.
The wires or cables to be organized can simply be fed through the clip loop, or the loop can be un-clipped to add wires/cables from the side. I like to un-clip the loop before sticking on the clips, and then simply push to click into place once all the wires/cables have been added.
To un-clip the loop, simply pull apart with a twisting motion; I suggest practicing with an un-stuck clip before using.
Print Instructions
Print in PLA using the 3mf files provided, otherwise :
- 0.2mm layer height
- 5 perimeters
- 0% infill
Note that there are two STL file versions provided. The preferred version (V4B) has a built in brim to enhance bed adhesion when printing; the brim is easily removed after printing. I have included a “plain” version V4C for those who prefer a non-brim version.
