I tried to make one from YouTube.Andrew McNeilI demonstrated the Yagi X-Wing, but I encountered difficulties in bending the vibrator to a consistent/correct size, so I made a small 3D-printed bending jig to ensure a consistent finished product.
** Update on December 4th: Welcome to use this model, but I have carried out significant development work and improvements on this design, including a better orientation of the print board to increase its strength. Once I have tested and ensured that they work well, I will release some updates/new designs here. I will also try to figure out how parametric design works so that everyone can easily modify the design to suit their own projects. Stay tuned and come back to check the updated configuration files early next year!
My antenna version also uses 3D-printed vibration rods, component support brackets, and RF router brackets; therefore, using this bending tool, we can produce a vibrator that can simply slide into a 3D-printed frame. I'm waiting for my friend's VNA to test the antenna. If it works well and Andrew agrees, I might release this version of my antenna design to MakerWorld.
This wire bender may only be suitable for wires with a diameter of 1 to 2.5 mm, but it's quite easy to design and create your own version in CAD. I've included the CAD STL files in the list of files below, so you can modify them as needed. Please note that this is only suitable for copper wires. For harder materials like welding wires, the plastic parts won't be able to withstand the pressure.
