Summary
I’ve seen several ready-made plates with a fixed number of heads. But the problem is that such plates aren’t very flexible. If I ever want to change the number of heads, I wouldn’t be able to -unless I change the entire model. That’s why the idea of creating modular displays for Bionicle heads came to life.
Overview
The display consists of a base plate and a head. The head is attached to the plate using two Axle 2L pieces. The plates themselves are connected using Pin 2L elements (I recommend using at least two pins to connect two plates securely).

It’s also entirely possible to attach original Mata, Metru, or Av-Matoran heads.
- For a Mata head, you’ll need an Axle 3L and a Technic Bush.
- For Metru head, an Axle 2L is required, and the “brain” piece must be shortened, similar to the ones used in 2007–2008 sets.
- For an Av-Matoran head, only an Axle 2L is needed.

And here's a brief demonstration of six connected displays featuring the original Toa Mata masks.

Issues
I should also mention a small issue. The plate was originally meant to be 7L x 7L, but during the modeling process, I overlooked that detail, and it ended up slightly smaller. The difference isn’t significant, so I decided to keep it as is.
