Summary

This is a simple adaptor to change the old 1 usb and 1 firewire to dual USBs.

You will have to file the existing firewire port into the rectangular shape of the USB socket above it.

I harvested one of the rear USB socket surrounds to make this look a bit nicer.

You will also need to make sure the surrounds are smooth on the back.

Then just buy a USB2 header online and glue it into this carrier. Depending on the screws you use to attach this back into the case you might also need a couple of washers.

Have repurposed the headphone socket to hold an LED to show HDD activity.
