This is a lightweight, foldable mushroom-picking basket designed to fit into a backpack when not in use. It is meant for short foraging trips where a full-size wicker basket would be inconvenient, especially if you end up finding no mushrooms at all.
The basket uses a simple frame made from PVC electrical conduit, carbon rods, a foamed PVC bottom plate, rope, and fabric. The 3D-printed parts include the handle grip, hangers, hinges, spacers, and sockets. Once assembled, the basket is airy, easy to carry, and large enough for a modest mushroom harvest.
I designed it as a practical alternative to a traditional wicker basket: lighter, cheaper, and packable, while still providing good ventilation for the mushrooms.
