This is a hi hat controller to work with the Roland TD-17. It works with the same settings as the VH-10. It uses a sliding variable 10k potentiometer resistor.

UPDATE: 2/25 install a 18k resistor across both pins on the 1/4 jack. This is needed for when the hi hat is all the way open.

I have used it for 6 months now, and so far so good. However as noted above add a 18k resistor on the 1/4 jack to limit the resistance when the hi hat is all the way open.

This was designed to use the Roland Hi hat cymbal of the VH-10. If you are using a different cymbal (such as the Lemon 13") with a typical hi hat clutch, use the spacer provided, under the hi hat clutch, and on top of the control, big hole down. That way the control can be used with a variety of cymbals.
