Going on vacation or just tired of manually watering your large plants? This modular, gravity-fed watering system turns almost any standard empty soda or water bottle (like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, etc.) into a slow-drip reservoir for your plants.
What's included in the project:
The "Arc" (Multi-tube distributor): A large 235mm wide curved pipe with multiple drip legs. Perfect for large, wide pots to evenly distribute water around the entire root system, rather than flooding just one spot.
The "Spike" (Single-tube): A simple, straight watering spike for standard and smaller pots.
The Universal Cap: Custom-modeled to perfectly fit the standard 28mm PET bottle thread (PCO 1881). It screws on tightly to prevent leaks.
STEP files included: Feel free to remix, adjust the length, or change the angle to fit your specific pots perfectly!
💡 PRO TIP FOR USAGE: For the water to flow freely, gravity needs a little help. After screwing the bottle onto the printed part and flipping it into the dirt, use a needle or a hot pin to poke a tiny hole in the bottom (now the top) of the bottle. This lets air in and prevents a vacuum lock!
Print Instructions
Material: PETG is highly recommended. It handles constant moisture and soil contact much better than PLA, and its slight flexibility makes the threads seal better around the bottle.
Nozzle: 0.4 mm.
Layer Height: 0.2 mm (Don't print too thick, or the threads won't be smooth).
Walls (Perimeters): 3 or 4 walls. This is crucial to make the parts watertight and strong enough to support a heavy, full bottle of water.
Infill: 20-25% Gyroid.
Orientation & Supports: * Look at the provided Orca Slicer screenshot in the gallery.
Print the tubes with the threads pointing UP.
Supports are REQUIRED, but only under the horizontal curved body and the downward-pointing legs.
Use Tree (Organic) supports generated only from the build plate. Keep the threaded section completely support-free for a clean screw fit.
The cap should be printed flat on its closed end (no supports needed for the cap).
