Thats an external cooling for my v0. But it should also work with many other printers where the printhead doesn't move in z direction. Probably not the strongest cooling, but it fits into a v0 with panels attached.
In addition to those printed parts you need 2x 5015 fans (voltage depends on the way you wire it), m3 heat inserts, springs and m3x 50 bolts.
A stronger version with 7032 fans might follow later.
Printing:
should fit onto a 120x120 printsurface ;)
I printed 4 ducts on my v0, but it's a bit tricky to get the correct orientation. Bigger printers will have it easier.
You won't be able to print it without support. I will add some pictures of my orientation, but this is just a suggestion on how it fits best for my printer with minimum support.
Wiring:
There are several ways of wiring it. It always depends on your mainboard.
I tested 2 versions myself:
Version 1:
- If you want the fans controlled by Gcode, It is the easiest way to wire the 2 new fans together with your existing stock part cooling fans.
- The Fan headers can easily take 4 instead of 2 fans from my experience (tested it on 2 printers with a skr-mini-e3-v2, a skr-mini-e3-v3 and a skr pico).
- You can solder, crimp, clamp the wires of all 4 fans together and connect them then all parallel to the fan header which is used on the v0 standard config.
Version 2:
- If you want to switch on the fans seperatly you can also connect those external fans to a seperate fan header and define them as [fan_generic] in klipper ( see klipper configuration reference).
- This way you can control if manually in your printer interface, for exampe if you only need it for some speed benchys e.g. and don't want the additional cooling for normal parts.
- I tried this with a skr 3 Mainboard, but many other boards nowadays also have additional controllaable fan headers.
