For my retro gaming PC running Batocera, I use a USB sensor bar for Wii and Wii U games. This bar can be placed centered above the TV screen. To avoid having the sensor bar (an IR emitter) permanently in view, I wanted a solution that allows it to be folded out during use and folded back behind the screen afterward.
KatDelgado’s friction hinge mechanism was very helpful here, as it ensures the bar stays in the desired position. The advantage of KatDelgado’s design is that no printing supports are needed, and the hinge can be snapped together without glue. To ensure enough friction in the hinge, I printed the InnerTread.stl part at 101%. The original InnerTread.stl is at 100%, but in WiiSensorBarHolder.3mf, it's scaled to 101%. You may need to experiment with the scaling of this part to achieve the desired friction.
For the SensorBarHolder.stl component, the WiiSensorBarHolder.3mf only requires printing supports for the two small protruding pegs that press into the sensor bar.
Make sure there is at least 7 cm of space between the back of the TV and the wall to fold in the holder. Position the holder as desired and attach it with strong double-sided tape.
I use a generic sensor bar available for a few euros from various Chinese webshops. The model I have is labeled "W-i-i SENSORBAR (RVL-009)" on the back (photo included). Multiple sellers offer the same model. I use the bar with original Wii Motion Plus controllers. I’m not sure if it works with 3rd party controllers in Batocera – probably not.
