This is a 3D printable Irwin Handi-Clamp.Irwin Handi-Clamp。 Squeeze the handle to close it onto the workpiece, and the self-locking lever mechanism keeps it in the closed state. Simply press the lever to release it. It's perfect for clamping tasks that require light pressure and one-handed operation. It can open from 0-39mm
All parts can be pressed or snapped together without the need for glue or fasteners. If you want the clamp to automatically pop open, you'll need a small rubber band, like the kind on a green onion.
Print
You want to print it as sturdy as possible. I'm using PLA with 5 perimeter lines and a 30% infill rate. PLA with CF infill would be even better. I've set the layer thickness to 0.2mm.
The rod and lever side of the fixture need some support in specific areas, as shown in the last photo. I recommend manually drawing the support according to the instructions, rather than enabling automatic support everywhere.
Assemble
The spring clip has some built-in mouse ears that need to be broken off first. Then, insert the short leg of the spring into the groove of the lever-side handle. It should click into place.
Then, slide the lever over the curved rod on the side of the handle rod and put the two handle parts together. The D-shaped pin should be press-fitted in place, but you may need to use a small hammer to gently knock it into place.
To make it pop open automatically, you need to thread a thin rubber band through the ring hole on the side of the handle rod, and then hook the other end to the small protrusion on the other side, as shown in the fifth photo.
Operation
When the clamping fixture is closed, the lever slides along the curved rod. When you stop clamping, it will self-lock into place. Pressing the end of the lever will unlock it. Please note that once the clamping fixture is locked, the leaf spring may not make contact with the end of the lever. The function of the spring is to initially apply slight pressure to the lever, allowing it to start locking onto the rod. When you stop clamping the fixture, it will spring back, and the spring will no longer make contact with the lever, but the self-locking
