Summary
I got tired of not finding a nice and secure way to have my records mounted on my wall, so I've been iterating on this design over the past year.
The record holders are designed around the small Command Poster Strips (https://www.amazon.com/Command-Hanging-Hangers-Posters-Adhesive/dp/B0751VFF2X/ref=sr_1_8?sr=8-8) or smaller nails.
Please be sure to follow the instructions on the Command Strips, like what surfaces work and to clean the wall before mounting anything.
I've also added Spacers you can print out to help with mounting multiple Vinyl Record Holders. So you can easily get consistent distances between each and every record. These are not required, but greatly helps!(no need to measure and mark the wall!)
There's currently only a 4cm Horizontal Spacer, and a 7cm Vertical Spacer. These are what I found to be ideal for me. but again, new sizes can easily be added, just ask if you find you need bigger/smaller spacers. The Blender file for the models is also included for easy modding :)
I wouldn't recommend going smaller than 7cm for the Vertical Spacer though, as you need that space to easily pull the record out without it getting caught in the Vinyl Record Holder above.
When printing, I strongly suggest printing the Vinyl Record Holder as solid as you can, with support. I've only printed them in PLA and have had no trouble with their strength.
As usual, I've put this all under public domain, do what you want with these designs. have fun!
Update Version 1.2b
- Fixed the nail holes on the nail version of the holders.
Update Version 1.2
- I've noticed that command strips can over time become more fragile to angular torque from bumping into the vinyl record holders. in half a year, only 2 out of my 38 has failed so far. but I wanted to make sure this doesn't happen to others, so I've redesigned the holders to use one additional optional command strip at the bottom. from my testing this has completely removed the problem.
- Rounded the horizontal bar of the holder to make it slightly easier to print.
- Added a version that uses nails instead of command strips for those who want a more permanent solution.
