Design Concept

The frame has a clamp to secure a smart phone and integrates a magnetic ring light mounting setup, allowing for enhanced lighting for photography and video. The frame also incorporates a standard 1/4" x 20 threaded hole for camera tripod mounting.

The frame can also be used as a steering wheel holder for your phone when playing smartphone video games.

Smartphone dimensions up to 15mm thickness and 86mm width will fit in the clamp jaws. 

Purpose

Ideal for occassional content creators or anyone needing improved lighting for mobile capture.

Printing Suggestions

Use sturdy materials like PLA to ensure durability and ease of printing. I used 3 walls and 15% infill for stability. 

Keep layers at 0.15mm or less for better quality screw threads. The frame was sized to print on a K1C 220mm x 220mm plate.

Assembly Instructions

Simply requires assembly of the parts. The flashlight mounting points on the frame are #10 steel washers super glued in place in the 14mm dia indentations on the frame do ensure the washers are slightly proud of the surface for good magnetic contact with the magnets in the flashlight case.

Printed threads can be very variable so I have produced a 2 piece version of the frame in order to allow testing of your print before committing to single one piece frame or just glue your thread insert into the alternative version 2 frame.
