My daughter doesn't like watching TV in complete darkness unlike me, but the lights she likes to have on are the kitchen units, but they reflect off the TV and annoy me, so I thought "shroud". Couldn't find anything useful here so made my own. I printed them in white because that's what I had loaded at the time and I realised they would let some light through but was actually quite happy with the results and the wife seems OK with it too. I think printing this in black would obviously mean minimal light leakage towards the TV if any and also stop the reflection of light from the shroud to the ceiling.

I saw one other shroud printed in parts to assemble around the light so that you wouldn't need to pull the unit completely out of the ceiling, but as most units are plugin these days, I just made these 1-piece.

This was real basic. Measured a spare light I had; hole diameter, flange diameter and then allowed a little overhang for the shroud. Only really needed to shield a small angle to stop the light from hitting the TV, made a guesstimate, installed it and very happy with the results.

If the extra bit of white light reflection hitting the ceiling is a bother, then probably would need to build the shroud out and have it extend a minimum of 5-10mm all around.
