Summary
Glob Light V1
- Intro.
What you have here is the Glob Light, I wanted to make a soft led light that could be used as a way to get around in the dark, or as a reading light, table light. Will be adding a version soon featuring an extended switch piece with a hole running through it so you can string these up in your backyard hopefully.
The piece pictured is printed in PLA I plan on printing this in TPU as well as some sort of flexible resin on my other machine. Updates to follow next week.
- Hardware.
I used these cheap LED lights. off of amazon, they are a press fit inside of the base part of the model. You may need to adjust your print parameters or the model to ensure a snug fit.
*Support Removal.
The supports in the bulb can be difficult to remove my recommendation would be to use a pair of long needle nose pliers and crush the supports so you can pull them out.

- Layer height - 0.25 (wound up using adaptive layer height in prusa to help with print quality, experiment with your settings to get a result you like.) (Adaptive .14) (Smooth 3)
- Print Speed - 55 m/s (first layers at 20 m/s)
- Temps - Nozzle (240 C) Bed (60 C)
- Brim - None
- Supports * - (on build plate only) (honeycomb, 12mm pattern spacing, 3 interface layers, .2 contact z distance)
- Print Time - (mine was around 5 hours, could probably be faster but didn't want to abuse my machine too much)

I've included the prusa project file with all the parts inside, not sure if the print parameters and stuff save but figured it would nice. Also the fusion 360 file is in there as well so you can remix this if you wish.
