This small case holds two bright white LEDs powered by USB and can be mounted to a webcam to light up its field of view. I designed this so I wouldn't have to keep a lamp next to my 3D printer when running in a darkened room.

Electronics
You will need to solder together a few LEDs, resistors, and a USB cable to cram inside the 3d printed enclosure. Any 5mm LEDs will work; I bought these ultra bright white ones.
If you wire up the LEDs in series, chances are 5V will be just below the optimal voltage for both of them, so you can forego any resistors. For a brighter light, wire them in parallel and use an LED calculator to figure out the resistor values you need. (For the bright LEDs above,
each one needs an 82 Ω resistor.) Finally, cut off the end of a USB cable and solder the wires up:

Assembly
Besides the 3D printed parts, several additional components are required to assemble the light:
- Electronics assembly from above
- USB type-A cable (I salvaged one with a weird connector)
- 1x low-profile M4x12 screw
- 1x M4 nut
Zip ties can be used instead of a screw and nut, but the case probably won't stay as tightly closed (and the USB cable won't have as much strain relief).
Because the case is so small, there is no room for a knot in the cable, one of the typical mechanisms for strain relief. You may want to add some superglue to ensure the cable doesn't slip out, pulling the electronics with it. Hold the assembled light with the LEDs facing down and put a few drops of glue where the cable meets the case.
If you use a screw longer than M4x12, you can screw the entire thing into something else to keep it in place. I just ziptied the completed light to the arm holding the webcam.
