Your doctor asked to take photos of your suspicious mole over time - to see if it's evolving - it might be melanoma. With this little thingy you can place it so that the mole is in the middle, and you take pictures over time for a couple of weeks or so, and then it's easier to compare if it grows or changes / “evolves” over time.
