Simple Wheeled Rover

An experiment with functional wheels. The tolerances are a bit tight so you may need to do some clean up for a good fit.

Printing

To assemble a complete rover, you'll need to print the following:

• 1x RoverBodyUpper
• 1x RoverBodyLower
• 4x RoverAxle
• 4x RoverWheel
• 2x RoverBodyPeg (optional)

This can be assembled without the RoverBodyPeg pieces but isn't as sturdy. 

Recommend printing the RoverAxle and RoverBodyPeg with brim. 

Supports are needed for the RoverBodyUpper and RoverBodyLower axle arches.

Assembly

If you're using the RoverBodyPegs, test the fitment of the axles and body before inserting the pegs.

Step 1

Insert the axles into the lower body.

Step 2 (optional if not using RoverBodyPeg)

Insert the pegs into the lower body.

Step 3

Sandwich the axles and optionally pegs between the body pieces.

Step 4

Push the wheels onto the axles. Note that the inset side of the wheel faces outward.

Congratulations! Your rover is now ready to explore and you may now consume a gummy bear.
