Summary
Hey, this is an amateur design I have come up with as I needed to save space in my flight sim setup. I have used an STM32F103 with FreeJoyQT. There is an ON-OFF-ON toggle switch in the middle of the device to switch/simulate between three devices, therefore making it a 3-in-1 MFD!
I have included everything from the freeCAD files to instructions(I have tried my best, feel free to ask me anything, it is my first time contributing) so if it is any use to you, I would be very happy.
The mounting holes are for 40x80 extrusions, although you can edit the mounting hole to your needs on the included CAD file.
The MFD has been used only in DCS for now, the way I've set it up is when the middle toggle switch is OFF, any input is done on the middle display. Flicking the switch to left ON then triggers the logical buttons on Shift Register 1, and the right ON triggers buttons on Shift Register 2, hopefully it is clear.
Electronic wise there are 5 columns and 4 rows of inputs, the toggle switch is wired directly to the board, there are instructions in the diagram pdf.
Here's a list of items I've bought/had in hand for the project:
1x - STM32F103C8
20x - 10mm round push buttons (no diodes necessary for this build, feel free to add them if you fancy)
4x - 4x45 bolts and nuts
4x - M6/M8/M10 bolts and nuts as desired, depends on the extrusion you're mounting it to.
