Use a  brim or raft to print Gort, but if you print him upside down, neck to print plate, you shouldn't need ANY other supports. You might want to add some to the shoulders, but he prints fine without any support at all. 

I superglued the head onto the shoulders. I separated the two parts in 3D Builder, so the slice is precise. I print on glass for a smooth base and transition.

Be sure to drop Gort's body down to the print plate. Neck down, feet up!  

And by the way, the front of the head has the visor over the eyes.
