This is a camera mount for the Raspberry Pi camera designed to clip onto the gantry and hold the camera in such a position that you can easily monitor your prints and capture timelapses.
When I made this model initially, I'd had this printer for a few months, but I'd had an extremely hacky camera mount that was attached to the legs of the stacked LACK tables I store my printers on. With that in mind, I went into Fusion and made my own camera mount that fit my needs. The system itself hasn't been changed since the original upload on Thingiverse, but I have added an additional clip to hold a LED stick that I use to light the print bed.
To use this, print out one printer clip, one camera mount, one camera arm mount, two arms, and two ribbon cable clips. In terms of other hardware, you will need:
- 1x Raspberry Pi Camera (doesn't matter which, so long as it has the same mounts)
- 1x camera ribbon cable. I think? I used a 2ft cable, but I don't remember.
- 3x M3 * 20mm screws
- 1x M3 * 8mm screw
- 4x M3 nuts
- 4x M2 * 8mm screws
- 4x M2 nuts
- A couple of zip ties, since the “cable clips” quite frankly suck really bad and barely do their job.
If you want to use the LED stick mount, only print out one ribbon cable clip as this replaces one of them. You will also need:
- 1x WS2812/SK6812 “stick” PCB
- Wires to connect it to your print controller, ideally soft silicone wires.
The printer clip was adapted from this tool holder by munce31, and the arms were adapted from the arms in this famous Logitech C270 tripod by luc_e.
