I needed to install a solar panel on the fascia board for my camera, but there was a rain gutter that got in the way of the panel, so I made a 4-inch spacer to keep the panel far enough away from the fascia board so I could point it toward the sun.

Since I was already at it, I made spacers from 1" to 4" in 1/2" increments.
