This print was made for a 6mm SHCS, but the idea can easily be adapted to other sizes. This was made for use with my benchtop mill gib lock. Originally the gib lock used a lever type screw, but the mill vise was always interfering with the lever operation so I simply replaced the lever screw with a simple 6mm SHCS. I also made an extended reach hex wrench (shown in photos) to operate the screw.
In order to be able to easily remove and insert the hex wrench when the screw is hidden under the vise, I made the “funnel/guide” print show here. This simply presses onto the head of the SHCS and acts to guide the end of the hex wrench into the screw socket.
