I made to scaled models:
1) with the metallic lever hidden - but is longer in total and thus extends outside the switch guard borders (Not what the gaurd was designed for ;-)
2) the tip of the original lever can be seen - but fits within the borders of the switch guard.
All pictures are from the 2nd model.
