This is a hook extension for Intex pool surface skimmer.

Water level in the pool dropped to a level where original hook is to short and water does not flow into the skimmer. Because I don't want to fill the pool at the end of the season, I have decided to create an extension.

Extension mimics original parts in dimensions. It's 141mm long with 40mm deep connection hole. This gives about 10cm of additional connection space.

Bolt is designed as M12x1,75 with 18mm of thread.

Printing tips.

After few days of v1 being in use I have noticed that the wide connection part broke at the edges. Too much pressure from the bold caused the walls to tear.

V2 brings thicker walls and small inner rounding. Also I have changed print settings.

I have printed the extension v2 with PrusaSlicer settings:

• PLA
• 4 perimeters (2 in v1)
• 0,2mm quality layer (0,15 in v1)
• 15% infill
• organic supports under the thinner part and in connection hole (reduced amount compared to v1)

On my Prusa Mini+ print with this settings took about 3,5h and used 13,5m of filament.

Bolt requires a bit more filament. When I printed with standart settings (2 perimeters, 15% infill), the head tore out when tightening the bolt. Second attempt seems to hold and is printed with:

• PLA
• 3 perimeters
• 0,15mm quality layer
• 50% infill
• some organic supports when printed head down

Print with this settings took about 1h and used 1,96m of filament.
