Assembly, painting
I assembled the van sides and ends around a block of two layers of foamboard, into which I embedded two 10mm nuts to give the finished model some weight. The roof is made from thin card.
I fitted wheels bought from AliExpress and glued the two halves of the chassis together, ensuring that the wheels rotate freely. Once the glue has set, I reinforced the join with cross pieces of thin plastic. For a smoother ride, enlarge the wheel sockets using a 2mm drill, fit "top hat" brass bearings (from Dundas Models) and use metal wheels.
Painted with acrylic paints. Windows and lettering added (see PDF file attached) Matt varnish applied and weathered using powdered pastel crayons.
