My son wanted a display stand for a couple of his 7" vinyl records. He like the original design with the smaller gap, but wanted two changes. 

1. Widened the model to be the entire length of a 7" vinyl record so as to support the entire length of the vinyl. 
2. Thickened the bottom to make the groove deeper and minimize the gapping of the sleeve when on display.

No supports needed if printed on the side.

Depending on how good your print bed adhesion is you may need to enable a brim.
