Summary
The single wall beer bottle boxes we get for home brewing don't last long since the handholes rip out. Our brew club does case exchanges, so these boxes get moved around quite a bit, so made up this bit of kit to provide a more robust lifting handle that can be used to repair an old broken box.
12/11/25 Update: Added bolt hole and nut sockets to secure the center portion together. The friction fit was not sufficient to keep it all together.
Post-Printing

Cut the hand hole tab off.

Place the inside hand hole reinforcement into the hole. May need to file the edge to ease insertion in the exterior portion. It is an interference fit.

Put the outer piece on. Drill (or poke) an 1/8" hole in the carboard at the screw locations.

Put M4 nuts in the inside nut holders.

Use M4x10 screws to clamp the pieces together. The clamping force is what will carry the box. If the screws are loose, they'll tear through the carboard.

Add your bottles back into the box!
