I despise zip ties, in general. Hate them. I use velcro (hook and loop) to bundle all of my cables under desks in our classrooms and labs. Mmmm - fuzzy and loopy! No slicing of skin. 

This is a basic mount for this wonderful stuff. Single screw, couple of loops.

The more perimeters, the better. I use 4 perimeters.
