A small rack designed to hold the double open ended set (8 piece) of ~3mm thick LAOA Spanners/Wrenchs ( https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005007507050465.html ).
The Small Rack is 3 Opengrids tall (84mm's), the Tall Rack is 4 Open Grids Tall (112mm). However it connects using a multiconnect ( https://www.printables.com/model/716558-multiconnect-generic-connector-for-multiboard ) slot on the back so should work with multiboard as well, requires two multiconnect connectors vertically to mount.
I not only needed a rack but wanted to learn onshape and this seemed like a nice little project to learn onshape with (coming over from blender/sketchup) and I couldn't find a rack for these spanners/wrenchs. I have uploaded 3 versions of each rack:
- Small
- Small +50 Microns (makes the gaps tighter)
- Small -50 Microns (makes the gaps looser)
- Large
- Large +50 Microns (makes the gaps tighter)
- Large -50 Microns (makes the gaps looser)
However I did make these variables in the Onshape model so it should be fairly easy to also customise the gap width if you need (open “Variable table” when you have the model open copied and ready for edit - Last picture shows those).
Design and Print Materials, my two are printed in PLA at 0.12 layer height, 0.2 layer height should be okay but those spanner/wrench grips are very fine so I wouldn't go to big. I found printing the model laying down to be best as it minimized support material to just the multiconnect slot or if you have good bridging you can print supportless.
I did my best to strengthen each spanner prong however if printing in PLA I recommend the Large model as it will be stronger, still be careful when removing spanners dont twist them out. For practical purposes (ie I have sausage fingers) I find the larger model easier to use as well so if like me your inflicted with larger digits maybe go with the larger as well. Best material to print this in would be PETG or ASA (or non brittle PLA+) as those just aren't as brittle as basic PLA.
