Summary
Brackets for Ender-3 don’t fit the Ender-2 so I made this one.
Use a material that doesn’t shrink or warp (I used PLA). (Se update below!)
Mount it to the top of the profile and check that the bottom side is 90 degrees to the profile. Grind the upper or lower rib if necessary or modify the 3D model and print a new one.
Measure the distance from the shaft to the profile at the trapeze nut and adjust the motor out or in so that you have the same distance at the motor.
Screws:
Two M3x4 (or M3x5) for motor (I found two in the spare parts bag)
Two M3x16 for damper
Two M3 washers for damper
Three MC6S 4x12 (Socket screws) or similar to profile
Three M4 Creality nuts for profile
Optional:
Two M4 washers
One M3 nut
Note:
nate2569 pointed out that it will not fit a Ender 3.
“the stock Ender 3 Z axis motor is resting on the bottom rail and with the spacer installed on this bracket, the motor will not fit using stock holes”
Update 2021-03-20:
All screws were loose after 1.5 years and the stepper motor was just sitting on the printer bottom plate. It still worked fine.
I use a passive heat chamber that reach about 45C (I print mostly in ABS). The temperature on the damper is approx. 46C so PLA should work but I could see compression marks after the washers in the plastic.
Redesigned it for ABS to reduce warping as much as possible but I had to use a raft and draft protection in Cura any way for a flat bottom.
I added M4 washers under the M3 washers as well to put the pressure on a larger area.
I added a M3 counter nut on the outmost M3 screw.
