I usually use bread clips to wrap the tail end of my yarn projects. I didn't have one on hand so I made a simple model for a yarn bobbin/end minder. Made them pretty while I was at it.

The model is small 30mm x 19.58mm x 2mm. Just big enough for my usual tail length of 12 inches or so. Could be made bigger to use for intarsia or a larger tail length.
